JERRY LEVI

Jackson Park Steward

In my role during the last ten years as steward for the natural areas of Jackson Park I have hoped that the security issues would be solved so that the public would feel safe in our Park and would come  and discover the treasures of Wooded Island, Bob O Link Meadow and the Japanese Garden. Building the Obama Center next door to these nature areas will not only eliminate the security issues but the people of Chicago will discover the beauty of these natural sites right in the middle of a busy urban area. There can only be positive benefits from more people visiting the Park

An added benefit will be the closure of Cornell and the re-routing of traffic which will eliminate the disconcerting traffic noises interfering with the peace and tranquility of our natural areas and which will simultaneously allow people to safely enter the Park without crossing that dangerous roadway.
